I’m your host, Dana Ward. The Vanessa Hudgens who we all know and love goes back to her breakout-star-days of the High School Musical series. Even though VH has gotten known for her singing and dancing ways, she is now focusing on acting. Regarding musicals versus straight-up movies, Vanessa reportedly told MTV, QUOTE it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys. Even thought Hudgens and her BANDSLAM musical will drop this summer, the latest movie that Vanessa is set to star-in has zero singing and dancing, and according the actress, the film actually delivers a great message that beauty isn’t always what it seems to the eye. Of course, it’s called Beastly, and it’s a modern-day remake of the classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The movie reportedly has Mary-Kate Olsen playing an angry ex-girlfriend to a vain and selfish guy, played by Alex Pettyfer, and the ex then puts a spell on him to become everything he hates: a hideous, beastly creature. Hudgens plays the lead, Linda, who attempts to transform the guy and I’m sure there’s a bit of love in the end as well.
