True Grit Open Casting Call

I’m Dana Ward here at our Beverly Hills studio with some info for those of you seeking stardom. If you’ve ever wanted to act alongside some of Hollywood’s best, this is your chance. Paramount Pictures is set to hold open castings for a 12 to 17 year old girl for the upcoming western film, True Grit. This is a lead role, people, for the movie and according to the TrueGritCasting.com site, “no experience necessary.” If you’re interested in this audition, you’d be playing the 14-year-old Mattie a simple, tough character in the post-Civil War Arkansas. She sets off on a journey with 2 marshals to hunt her father’s killer. No word on who else the lucky lady will star opposite, but it’s pretty sweet that True Grit is completed by the famed Coen Brothers. So this open call already got started with a stop in Little Rock, but casting will also be stopping in Jackson, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Any one else who can’t make it, can send in a taped audition.
