Marilyn Maye Tribute

Here is a great song by one of the best jazz singers, Marilyn Maye, the great RCA recording star (7 albums and 34 singles) who holds the singer’s record of appearances (an amazing 76 times) on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”. Born Marilyn Maye McLaughlin in 1931, in Wichita, Kansas, USA, Marilyn Maye has been a respected jazz and cabaret singer for decades, whose big, throaty, but nuanced voice caused Johnny Carson to call her a “supersinger”. Jazz great Ella Fitzgerald called her “the greatest white female singer in the world”. Maye’s first national exposure came from being on Steve Allen’s show. She is one of the brightest lights of television, supper clubs and the recording industry in the 1950′s. Marilyn Maye’s style is unique and she adds to a wonderful swing a very strong voice. Enjoy Marilyn’s unique style!
