Lil Wayne’s New Rock Album Preview: Rebirth ft. Prom Queen Lil Wayne rocks out! I’m Dana Ward at the Clevver TV studios with the Grammy winner’s new album preview. Surprise – Lil Wayne’s 7th studio album showcases the rapper in a totally different light. This round, he won’t be rappin, he’s going to be rockin. Yes, that’s right; the 26-year-old is introducing a new style in his guitar-driven songs. Reportedly, he stated that he was inspired by Kanye West’s new image and he learned how to play the guitar while hanging with Kid Rock. Rebirth is the name of the CD and it features the same successful team from Lil Wayne’s highly recognized previous album. The first official track to drop into the public is Prom Queen, hitting us back in January. It peaked at number-15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music vid has also hit the industry, debuting on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and it certainly features some crazy camera effects. Prom Queen tells the story of Lil Wayne and his crush who just doesn’t catch on. He becomes a famous performer, only to have the hottie show up at his big-time concert and in true rock star fashion, he ignores her. Another track with early release is Hot Revolver, also making it onto the Billboard charts. Rebirth will also feature a song rocking collaboration with Fall Out Boy.
