Ellen Replaces Paula on American Idol!

Ellen DeGeneres is the new Paula Abdul. Plus, her show is in a bit of trouble. Get the story next! Hi everyone, I’m your host Dana Ward at the ClevverTV headquarters. Ellen DeGeneres is doing pretty darn well these days. She gets the best seats at awards shows, guest-judges on popular shows like So You Think You Can Dance, and now she add another judging position to her resume. American Idol officially announced that Ellen will be a judge on season-9 of the Fox show. Obviously, she will be filling the void left by Paula Abdul, when the ex-judge didn’t renew her contact reportedly due to contract disagreements. But DeGeneres publicly made it know that she did not want to be seen as stealing the job. In fact, she said that she was a big fan of Paula, loves the show and is excited to add the people’s point of view. Talking about the highs, let’s talk about the lows. Right around the time the AI announcement got made, the Ellen DeGeneres show got sued. Apparently 4 major record companies have made claims against the daytime show that it used more than 1-thousand songs from the labels without permission.
