Chace Crawford No Longer Footloose: Why did he quit the remake?

You’re back at the ClevverTV studios and I’m Dana Ward. So it was confirmed by the Chace Crawford camp that he chose to quit the iconic role – as played by Kevin Bacon in the original – for Footloose. According to Crawford’s people, Chace’s Gossip Girl shoot schedule, which is set to resume in July, interferes directly with the summer film calendar. And now it’s being said that the Paramount might complete a nationwide talent search to find an “unknown” for the role. Keep in mind that before CC came along, Zac Efron was linked to Footloose but reportedly didn’t sign-on officially in order to keep from being typecast as a singing, dancing actor.
